Program Information

 

Course Description:

The Cabinet Making Program for secondary students consists of five courses, Carpentry and Cabinet Making 1,2,and 3, and Cabinet Making 4 and 5. The first three courses include, but are not limited to: safe and efficient work practices, basic trade skills, layout, fabrication, erecting residential wooden structures and fixtures using hand and power tools, basic blue print reading, communication skills and customer relations. The last two courses consist of, but are not limited to: preparing cabinets for finishes, fastening techniques, assembling cabinet components, installing cabinets and applying laminates.

Carpenter Helper – Core                  300 Hours OCP A

Cabinet Finisher                                150 Hours OCP B

Cabinet Assembler                           300 Hours OCP C

Cabinet Maker PSA V                       450 Hours OCP D

Textbooks and Supplies:

Textbook: “Modern Cabinet Making” provided by FCTC to secondary students enrolled in Carpentry and Cabinet Making Program.

Supplies: Student required to bring Notebook(3-ring Binder), Writing Utensils(pencils preferred), and Safety Glasses.
